Firmware Updates

“Update” Tab

1. “Select Firmware” → File drop zone opens Explorer/Finder.

2. Drag bundle (ZIP) in → Companion checks header.

3. “Upload & Start” → Progress bar appears.

4. After successful flash: Device restarts, version string updates.

• Check software version: The customer immediately sees which software version is currently installed on the Edge device and can determine whether a newer version is available.
• Select update files: They can select a new update file (e.g., a firmware package) that has either already been downloaded or is to be loaded from an external server (depending on the implementation).
• Start update: With a click on “Install update,” the process begins. This allows the customer to keep the Edge devices up to date quickly and securely (important for security and new features).
