Network Settings

  • Checkbox “Use as primary adapter” → Determines via which port Companion responds.
  • Configuration mode
    • DHCP: Device obtains IP automatically.
    • Static: IP, netmask, gateway can be entered freely.
  • DNS server optional.
  • Save → Device reboots with new values.

  • Set IP mode: The customer can determine how the device obtains its IP address:
    • DHCP: The address is automatically assigned by the network.
    • Static IP: The customer can assign a fixed, manual address.
  • Assign static addresses: If the customer selects Static IP, they can enter the necessary parameters themselves:
    • IP Address (Unique network address)
    • Subnet Mask (Determines the address range of the local network)
    • Gateway (Router address for communication outside the local network)
  • Apply configuration: After entering the data, the customer saves it. The device adopts the new settings, which is important for permanent reachability.
